Shatta Wale will not performing at Ebony's Tribute Concert

After Bullet announced that some artistes are charging before jumping on Ebony’s tribute concert stage to honor the late singer, fingers pointed at dancehall artiste, Shatta Wale.

Well, Zylofon Media‘s PRO, Sammy Flex has denied the claim that the ‘Dancehall King’ hitmaker demanded cash from Ruff Town Records, the late’s management.

According to Sammy Flex on Zylofon FM’s morning show, it is true that Shatta Wale will not be performing at the March 23 concert but not because organisers are not paying him.

Detailing why the SM4LYF boss will be missing on the night of the event, Zionfelix.net heard him say that Shatta Wale will be out of town by then. He later communicated on Friday morning show that the controversial artiste was out of time even at the time of giving the information.

Mr. Atuobi Baah further revealed that Shatta Wale left Ghana to shoot his first music video after signing for Zylofon Music so information that the musician real name Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jr. will not be performing at Ebony’s tribute concert because of cash is false.

Bullet, manager of Ebony later confirmed on the show that the artiste who demanded cash before perfoming at the tribute concert is not Shatta Wale.

Ebony died on February 8 in a fatal accident on the Sunyani-Kumasi road with two others after a family visit in Sunyani.

My love for sex cannot be measured – Kumawood actress confesses

Kumawood actress, Louisa Frimpong has confessed to be a love of sex and has debunked claims that she is a lesbian.

There were rumours that the actress who is said to be the look-alike of Nana Ama Mcbrown is a chronic lesbian.

But in a yet to be launched TV show by Actress Tracey Boakye christened 'Time With Tracey' the actress has indicated that she loves sex and will in no way sleep with a fellow woman.

The actress said literally that "as I sit here I won’t lie to you I love sex and I have very active hormones that reacts easily to me”.

The actress, in a recent interview with ghanawinds, revealed how two years after marriage with no child, family and friends began calling her names.

According to her, family indirectly told her to give birth because it is unusual for a lady not to give birth two years after marriage. The ‘Abodam’ actress further stated that she heard most people calling her a barren and that broke her down.

To her, she worried over the issue for about six months but became used to it because she knew that she had no problem with giving birth.

The actress further revealed that she married early because she didn’t want men to be sleeping with her.

Ghanaian man hanged to death at Singapore for drug trafficking

A 39-year old Ghanaian man has been killed by hanging at Singapore for smuggling and peddling hard drugs.

Billy Agbozo, who has been on trial since 2013, was hanged to death by authorities from Singapore after a court ruling.

Ghanawinds has gathered that Billy Agbozo traveled by air from Accra, Ghana to Dubai on April 4, 2013, before boarding a plane bound for Singapore. He arrived at Singapore's Changi Airport the next day and planned to spend five nights in the Asian country.

He was immediately stopped by border security there who inspected his belongings which included a black haversack and a red-and-black suitcase.

In the course of the search, a substance was discovered containing 1.63kg of methamphetamine with an estimated street value of about $135,600. It has been revealed that Billy's accomplice could also be Ghanaian as recorded interviews show how he spoke in fluent Twi with one of his dealers.

This discovery of the substance led to his immediate arrest as he was found guilty of illegally importing controlled drugs under Singapore's Misuse of Drugs Act.

So far, the foreign affairs minister has not commented on the matter as checks show that Billy's earlier petition to the president and the Court of Appeal were all not answered. The laws in Singapore state that trafficking more than 15 grams of heroin results in a mandatory death sentence.

Despite various calls for the death sentence at Singapore to be abolished, it remains clear that the developed nation stays true to its resolve to check crime no matter the legal implications.

Coup Makers Are "Political Armed Robbers" - Baako Throws Shade At Rawlings

Seasoned journalist Kweku Baako has jabbed Ex-President Jerry John Rawlings over his historic revolutionary days in the country.

Contributing to Peace FM 's Kokrokoo, Kweku Baako described Mr. Rawlings and his cohorts that engaged in coup as "political armed robbers", explaining that they robbed their way into the hearts of Ghanaians.

According to Mr. Baako, the parties that played an integral role in the various coup d'états that characterized the nation resulting in the forceful overthrow of successive governments committed acts of treason and so do not deserve an inch of respect from him.

“The lack of discipline on the part of some Khaki elements led by Rawlings, the lack of discipline; constitutional discipline and indeed once I say Khaki, it means that I’m showing some gross disrespect to them. And I mean those guys who engaged in treason. They don’t deserve my respect…They decided from day 1 that they won’t let the constitution survive. And if out of your indiscipline and greed, you commit treason, you return to tell me because the fourth Republic is stable; we should give you credit. What about those who died? Those who went into exile? Those who went to jail? What should we do for them…it took blood, tears and sweat to restore democracy in Ghana”.

With their leader being Ex-President Rawlings, the seasoned journalist and Editor-in-Chief of the New Crusading Guide told host Kwami Sefa Kayi that these political armed robbers instituted the indemnity clause in Ghana's constitution in order to provide legal protection against their crimes and exempt them from any future punishment.

To him, the indemnity clause must be reviewed because it helped the "unlicenced" political actors who engaged in the revolution to be left off the hook; he however doesn't see how best the clause can be removed from the constitution stressing it shouldn't have even been enshrined in the constitution in the first place.

“ That’s why the political armed robbers when they’re exiting put in the indemnity clauses…When they’re exiting then they insert and they smuggled the indemnity clauses into the constitution to protect themselves…Coup makers are political armed robbers”, he fumed.

DCE collapses at Independence Anniversary parade

The District Chief Executive for Wassa East District, Wilson Arthur, in the Western region collapsed on the grounds of the Independence Day celebration in the course of reading his speech.

The collapsed DCE, our source says, was immediately rushed to the Ahmadyyia Muslim Mission hospital at Daboase by the Member of Parliament (MP) for Wassa East constituency, Isaac Adjei Mensah, and hientourage 

Following the collapse of Mr. Arthur, the District Coordinating Officer, Samuel Owusu Andoh took over and read DCE’s Independence Day speech.

The event which was held at Daboase, the district capital, had in attendance the district commander of police, officials from the Ghana Education Service among other distinguished personalities.

The DCE later recovered at the hospital and has since been discharged, but not after the event had ended.

Meanwhile, at least 25 pupils also collapsed at the Black Star Square during the Independence Day parade as of 12:30

Police gun down NDC man in robbery attack at Jirapa

A former campaign team member of the Member of Parliament for the Jirapa Constituency of the Upper West Region has been identified as among four suspected armed robbers killed in two separate incidents by police in the area

Desmond Danye, popularly known as Nabu, who was actively involved in the campaign activities of the NDC MP, was gunned down by police last Monday at a robbery scene by police personnel while patrolling the Hian-Ullo stretch of the Jirapa District.

ASP Daniel Nartey, Jirapa district police commander, revealed” Nabu was leading a robbery syndicate operating in the district and his gang met my men on patrol duty, mistook them for civilians and ordered them to stop. When they realized they were police officers they tried shooting and my men also returned fire killing him on the spot”.

He explained that there have been series of robbery attacks on commuters especially in the last couple of days.

“Our intelligence gathered so far suggests that Nabu has been leading most of these attacks on innocent citizens in the last few weeks.”

The district commander further disclosed that, four other suspects linked to the crime have also been apprehended and transferred to the police regional headquarters in Wa for further investigations.

In another development, three suspected robbers in their early 30s were also lynched at Gbankor a community in the Nadowli-Kaleo district after they reportedly attempted robbing a 48 year old man.

The three are however yet-to-be identified, were killed.

The Nadowli district police commander, ASP James Ankan, confirmed the incident, but said it is being investigated by the Upper west regional police CID.

2018 VGMA nominees’ list out Saturday

Organisers of the 2018 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMAs) Charterhouse have scheduled Saturday, March 3 as date on which the list of nominees will be released.

The 19 edition of the Awards is scheduled to be held on Saturday, April 14 at the Accra International Conference Center with the release of the nominees kick-starting the jamboree.

Initially slated for Friday, the release of the nominees’ list is scheduled to begin from 11:00am to 4:00pm on Saturday.

Charterhouse, Ghana Music Awards and Vodafone Ghana will also simultaneously release the list on social media.

The hourly release of the categories will exclude Song of the Year, Album of the Year and the topmost Artiste of the Year, which will be unveiled at the Nominees Announcement Party slated for Saturday night.
